Ultima Bedlam is a personal electronic music project exploring futuristic worlds, parallel dimensions, and cosmic landscapes, with an ever-present gaze toward distant realms waiting to be discovered by imagination and heard through sound. The name “ULTIMA BEDLAM” comes from a video game released in 1988 on the Commodore 64 and reflects my vision of chaotic yet beautiful sonic landscapes, where hidden dimensions and mysterious realms invite exploration and creativity. Inspired by classic pioneers of electronic music, the sound blends epic, cinematic atmospheres with ambient textures and synth-driven melodies into immersive sonic journeys. Each composition serves as a portal to new, unseen spaces, uniting the familiar with the extraordinary.
Hi, I’m Simone. My passion for electronic music was sparked by film soundtracks and iconic artists that inspired me to experiment on my own. Science fiction and cyberpunk aesthetics have always fascinated me, shaping my vision of futuristic sounds and immersive sonic landscapes. In recent years, I’ve been exploring these ideas hands-on, creating my own compositions using open source tools on Linux and Android, mainly with my AKAI MPK Mini MK3.Beyond music, I’m fascinated by the world of open source: I collect and revive old computers, experiment with software, build websites, edit videos, and explore creative possibilities in every corner of the digital world. Freedom and experimentation are at the heart of how I work, both in sound and in digital creation.
Through Ultima Bedlam, I aim to share not just music, but a vision of futuristic, immersive soundscapes that invite listeners to explore hidden dimensions, traverse alien worlds, and imagine what lies just beyond perception.
Main production workstation
My main production system is a Linux-based laptop restored and optimized for creative work. It runs LMMS and other lightweight tools, forming the core of my digital studio.
I enjoy bringing older business machines back to life with Linux, transforming second-hand hardware into fully functional music workstations. This approach reflects my philosophy: creating electronic music using open source software and recycled technology.
Instead of chasing powerful or expensive setups, I prefer simple, reliable systems that encourage experimentation and creativity. This minimal and resourceful environment allows me to focus on sound, atmosphere, and composition rather than complexity.
For me, the studio is not defined by high-end gear, but by imagination, curiosity, and the ability to turn everyday tools into instruments for exploring new sonic worlds.
